It is the summer solstice, which normally occurs on 21st June.
However in 2008 the exact solstice will occur at 23:59 hours on 20th June (longest day of the year).

Monthly club meeting: Tuesday: July 8th at 7:30pm at the HMYC club house.
If you have a dinghy that is sitting behind the shed at the club, please email me asap and claim it, we plan to sell the unclaimed dinghies and use the available space.

Labor Day BBQ 4 P.M. 9-1-08
Monthly club meeting: Tuesday Sept. 9th at 7:30 pm on the outer bulkhead. Project and work days will be discussed along with other projects.
The next monthly club meeting will be held at the club on October 14th at 7:30pm. We will be discussing the walkway construction and planning for the closing of the club for the winter. If you have any questions, please bring them with you to the meeting! In the meantime, get out on the water and enjoy your boat!!
On March 21st we will have our Cabin Fever Party at Casa del Mare in Upper Nyack. The restaurant offers a buffet dinner, no seafood or veal, for $25.95/person. Please make out your checks to: Hook Mountain Yacht Club and send checks to Hook Mt. Yacht Club, P.O. Box 180, Nyack, NY 10960. You are encouraged to bring any wine, beer or liquor etc. that you want to enjoy to this party. The restaurant will provide soft drinks and coffee (included). Party starts at 6:30pm until 10:30pm.

As usual there will be a party for the start of the summer. YAY! And it’s only 3 weeks away, double YAY! So who’s going to bring what? We will have the usual hotdogs, hamburgers, and soda. But we all know that it’s the homemade stuff we can’t live without. Please RSVP to party@hmyc.net so we can better plan how much food to buy and balance the dishes people are bringing. We have new members who will find out about our secret cooks and their special recipes; and you new members thought all you got was a mooring, HA.
